Paper Petition

The petition of citizens of Queensland that are residents or business operators in the Montville and Flaxton localities draws to the attention of the House our concerns about the possible unintended consequences that may arise from the Integrated Planning and Other Legislation Amendment Bill 2004 which could result in an urban containment boundary being adopted around the village of Montville that would prevent a satisfactory outcome arising from the submission from the Montville Village Association that the Maroochy Planning Scheme should not prevent the development of a golf course and ancillary facilities.

Your petitioners therefore request the House to initiate the necessary steps that will ensure that the proposed Montville Country Club be established as a fully sewered, environmentally self-sustainable golfing residential community and that it be planned as a national model for non- reliance on state or local government community infrastructure.
