TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland
The Petition of residents of the State of Queensland, between the Daintree River and Cape Tribulation in the electorate of Cook, draws the attention of the House to the exclusion from tariff equalisation of electricity supply through the amendment that excluded the area from the distribution authority.
Your petitioners therefore request the House to order the installation of meters at every house and business and to charge all householders and business owners for their electricity consumption at the same rate as the rest of Queensland, and to reimburse all householders and business owners the full cost of properly receipted equipment, fuel, maintenance and equipment replacement costs, less subsidies.
