The petition of residents of the State of Queensland draws to the attention of the House the breaking of an election commitment of “no new taxes” by the Beattie’s Government through its introduction of the unfair and inequitable compulsory ambulance levy.
Your petitioners therefore request the House to amend the compulsory ambulance scheme to ensure that residents of Queensland pay the ambulance levy only once, irrespective of whether they run a small business, farming enterprise or provide accommodation services.
