The petition of residents of the State of Queensland draws to the attention of the House better transport options for the residents of southern Cairns in the form of a bus service to Forest Gardens.

Your petitioners therefore request the House to take immediate steps to address the lack of public transport options to Forest Gardens, Mount Sheridan by introducing a bus service to the area. Forest Gardens is one of the fastest growing communities in the southern corridor and is made up of over 1800 people from a wide range of demographic, age and socio- economic groups. It is currently growing at a rate of 40 people a month. The lack of a bus service to the area limits the safe access residents have to services and the rest of the Cairns Community.
