To the Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland. The petition of the residents and electors of the Shire of Esk draws to the attention of the House that residents in many parts of Esk Shire are inadequately represented due to the abolition of electoral divisions, which was brought about by the arbitrary decision of the Council and without the democratic process of community consultation.
Your petitioners, the undersigned electors and residents of the Shire of Esk, hereby state that it is our will that the House reintroduce electoral divisions so as to facilitate and improve a fairer system of representation.
