To the Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland. The petition of citizens of Queensland draws to the attention of the House: Following a public meeting at Ningi, 02.10.2002, it was resolved to inform the Minister for Main Roads and Minister for Transport that the people of Ningi and Bribie Island unanimously reject the proposal to upgrade Bribie Island to four lanes through Ningi Township, as the planning and consultation process was flawed and the best result was not achieved for the whole of Caboolture Shire.

The meeting also resolved that urgent consideration be given to determining a suitable bypass route, and funding be provided for acquiring the rights for a corridor and for developing this as a bypass of Ningi Township.
