Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House that, when the justice system fails, victims of wrongful conviction are denied the protection of international law and the international legal practices of comparable democracies in providing redress for their years, often decades, of suffering and unjust punishment at the hands of the State of Queensland.

Your petitioners therefore request the House to establish a Queensland Criminal Cases Review Commission, legislate to fairly compensate Queensland victims of wrongful conviction, and provide immediate practical and financial support for Queensland exonerees following release from their wrongful imprisonment.
