Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House the speed limit through the township of Wooroolin. Wooroolin is a small township located on the busy Bunya Highway in the South Burnett. The school bus stop is located on the eastern side of the highway, which means primary and high school children must cross at the busiest time of day to wait at the bus stop. The town’s main parking area, children’s playground, amenities and free caravan parking are also all located on the opposite side of the highway to the shops and services, which means residents and visitors must regularly cross the highway.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to call on the State Government to reduce the speed limit through Wooroolin to 50 km/hr to create a safer road environment for school children and pedestrians.
