TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland

Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House the lack of treatment (medical and surgical) for patients in the Darling Downs Health Service area for acute ophthalmology presentations via the private rooms of Ophthalmologists in Toowoomba. Patients that otherwise need treatment at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane, requiring patient transport costs (private and via ambulance), accommodation in Brisbane for 1-2 days, and a care giver and/or next of kin to accompany patients to appointments.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to do all within its power to provide local care for patients regarding acute ophthalmology care in the Darling Downs Health Service area.
