TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland
Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House that Brisbane is the name of the city that people and businesses have lived with - and do not want changed. The city is known as ‘Brisbane’ and to make this change will cost the State (+ Country). Tourists do not care for such changes.
Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to remove the consideration of changing the name of the city and place the attention to the support of the city and the whole of the State’s future development.
