Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House of the lack of Peritoneal Dialysis Nurse and services at the Beaudesert Hospital.

Currently patients that require Peritoneal Dialysis treatment must travel to the Logan Hospital, a trip often taking more than an hour. Not only this but there are considerable waiting times once you present to the Logan Hospital for treatment, in most cases wait times can be hours over and above the full treatment time.

In an effort to reduce times and reduce the severe impact on Peritoneal Dialysis patients, Beaudesert Hospital services need to be expanded, in particular the introduction of Peritoneal Dialysis Nurse and services, in order to continue to support the future health service needs of the expanding communities in the Scenic Rim, which extends south to the New South Wales border.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to do all within its power to provide funding and training for the implementation and training of Peritoneal Dialysis services and qualified nurse at the Beaudesert Hospital.
