The petition of electors of the Division of Redlands draws to the attention of the House to the recent resurfacing of Cleveland-Redland Bay Road at Victoria Point between Benfer Road and Anita Street that was surfaced with a 2 coat course chip seal surface that has made the tyre/surface approx. 8 decibels louder than the old smooth surface and therefore is affecting the residents and children's lifestyle with some of the following: sleep disruptions, annoyance and hypertension caused by the sudden increase in road noise.

Your petitioners therefore request the House to have the Department of Main Roads gives consideration to applying a low noise asphalt overlay to the portion of road mentioned above and reduce the excessive noise levels currently being experienced since the recent road surface upgrade.
