TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland

Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House:

  1. On 27 February 2024, the Supreme Court of Queensland found Queensland police and ambulance workers were given unlawful directions to get COVID-19 vaccines or face potential disciplinary action.
  2. The court delivered its landmark judgments in three lawsuits against Queensland Police Service and Queensland Ambulance Service for their directions to workers issued in 2021 and 2022. [Johnston & Ors v Carroll (Commissioner of the Queensland Police Service) & Anor; Witthahn & Ors v Wakefield (Chief Executive of Hospital and Health Services and Director General of Queensland Health); Sutton & Ors v Carroll (Commissioner of the Queensland Police Service) [2024] QSC 2]
  3. Queensland’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic was the harshest crackdown on civil liberties in living memory.
  4. Under enforced public health orders from the Chief Health Officer at the time, the Queensland Government used its powers to unlawfully suspend the freedom of Queenslanders to work, travel, socialise, and even make informed decisions regarding their own health.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to direct the Premier to provide:

1. The medical advice relied used to enforce the COVID 19 mandates that would

a. discriminate people on the basis of their covid vaccination status

b. isolate our most vulnerable from their families

c. force Queenslanders to have covid vaccinations that appear to have increasingly alarming safety and efficacy statistics.
