TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland

Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House the failure by the Bligh Labor Government to deliver promised passing lanes, flood-proof and upgrade the Warrego Highway, even though the Labor Party has been in office for 20 of the last 22 years and in receipt of the resources wealth generated from the Surat Basin.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to:

(a)       deliver five passing lanes promised between Oakey and Dalby

(b)       upgrade the Warrego Highway to four lanes between Brisbane and Dalby

(c)       upgrade the Warrego Highway to a 110km per hour standard from Dalby to Roma

(d)       flood proof the Warrego Highway as it is the major Brisbane-Darwin freight corridor and

(e)       ensure the Government has a detailed plan and time lines to fix the Warrego Highway.
