Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House the lack of climate control in public housing to cope with heat excess and humidity. This poses a significant health risk for vulnerable tenants. Ollie Jay, Professor of Heat and Health at the University of Sydney declared “identifying more sustainable cooling solutions is an urgent priority” to prevent excess heat deaths.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to install reverse cycle air conditioners in all public housing properties.
