Queensland Citizens draws to the attention of the House the disruption and financial pain caused by the Federal Government’s quarantine failure and the subsequent introduction of equine influenza into Australia. Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to raise with the Federal Minister for Agriculture the impact of the Australian Government’s decision to not honour the original agreement to cost share the financial assistance towards veterinary care of infected horses and to request the immediate reinstatement of such cost sharing arrangement.
