TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland
The Petition of citizens of Queensland draws to the attention of the House the current condition of the Kenilworth Eumundi Road (Tourist Route 22) and the high number of articulated heavy vehicles and trucks towing dog trailers using the road, and recent traffic accidents that have involved heavy vehicles on this road. Your petitioners therefore request the House to bring forward the planned works to complete the upgrade of the road. To rebuild and upgrade the sections of the road that have broken down as a result of heavy vehicle movements. To limit the speed of all vehicles using the road to 80kmh, on the sections of the road that are to be upgraded, until the upgrade is completed. To have increased random Police and Department of Transport Officers patrol the road, using marked and unmarked cars, focusing on speed and tailgating offences and to install fixed speed cameras on this road as soon as possible.upgraded, until the upgrade is completed.
