The petition of the citizens and electors of the Division of Toowoomba North draws to the attention of the House that it is time for a High School in Highfields. Approximately 900 high school aged children are bussed daily to Toowoomba and both the local State School (+850 students) and private Catholic primary school (+ 300 students) are growing rapidly. This is reflective of the greater than 6% growth annually in the area. Highfields is one of the fastest growing areas in the state. We want to ensure that land is procured in the short term, which is appropriately located both in planning and community terms. land values in the vicinity of the Highfields Town Centre have tripled in just over 7 years. Your petitioners therefore request the House to take the necessary steps to secure a High School in Highfields Qld 4352.
