The petition of residents of the State of Queensland draws to the attention of the House that dyslexia is not recognised or funded by the Australian Federal or State Government or the Department of Education. Your petitioners therefore request the House to have dyslexia recognised, accepted and funded throughout the Australian Federal and State Government and Education system. To provide schools with funding to identify and support children by way of concessions and teacher aides. To support dyslexics learning styles, differences and needs. To provide teachers and school guidance officers with appropriate training to recognise dyslexia.
