The petition of residents of the State of Queensland draws to the attention of the House the activity of mining, material extraction from the property known as John's Landing, Lake Cooroibah Road, Noosa, Survey Plan A Lot 306 on MCH 1227 and Lot 177 on M 3798. This industry has existed in a residential area, under an 'As of Right' historical clause. Due to the sale of the business, an expansion of the extractive industry has occurred. We, the Petitioners are concerned by the environmental damage that has, and is occurring in such close proximity to the Assets of the Community, The Noosa River, Lake Cooroibah and the Cooloola National Park. Your petitioners therefore request the House to: 1. Investigate this extraction industry: Noosa Washed Sands Pty Ltd, ACN 118 461 313 2. Investigate substantial, illegal tree clearing beyond EPA buffer zones and lease boundaries 3. Investigate non-compliance with current Workplace Health and Safety requirements 4. Investigate for unfair trade practices and competitive advantage due to no legislative regulations being in place 5. Investigate the damage made to the resident's amenity, wildlife and road networks due to the heavy expansion of this industry.
