Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House that many councils operate in Queensland with their own input into building codes and energy efficiency practices throughout the state. The result is a confusing mish mash of ideas and programme and way to do things that is at best confusing.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to alter the various state and council housing guidelines and laws and make compulsory the installation of solar panels and batteries for all new, used and rental houses before contracts are signed. The same to be done for removal of all wood burning fires and stoves and not allowing them into new buildings. The solar panels will offset energy costs of the fires going.
