Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House the need for inclusion of geotechnical history, and greater transparency, of standard property and title searches for new residential developments.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to ensure any residential property or title searches include:

  1. Historical land stability history
  2. Whether the land in question contains hummocky ground
  3. Any natural ground water seepage
  4. Unmapped water course/s
  5. Any other potential land instability issues that could cause land subsidence.

Additionally, the search should include detailed works that have been implemented/undertaken to stabilise identified risk areas.
