Queensland citizens draws to the attention of the House their concerns about the Voluntary Assisted Dying Bill 2021. While not wishing in general to dictate to others how they should live (or in this case end) their lives, your petitioners are concerned that the bill is a “bridge too far” for our society – some ruling out the concept of voluntary assisted dying altogether and others considering the legislation too “loose” to effectively restrict the practice only to appropriate cases where the relief of suffering by other means is impossible.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to take special cognisance of the expressly / officially stated views of electors within their respective divisions – that is, this petition and any other official e-Petitions also addressing this Bill - and deal with the Voluntary Assisted Dying Bill 2021, accordingly.
