TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland

Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House that because of poor road construction and road maintenance of the D’Aguilar Highway, some sections of the highway have developed into a series of potholes during rain periods damaging unsuspecting motorist’s vehicles. Road work crews are not removing the road base etc which has come out of these large and/or small potholes thus making it a hazard for broken windscreens for motorists.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to put in place a mandatory requirement for the Department of Transport and Main Roads and their contractors to clean up the site around each pothole at the same time as they are repaired.
