Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House that paintball markers are not firearms and should be moved to a restricted item. On 14 December 2017 Magistrate Shearer ruled that gel blasters are not weapons due to them not being designed to harm and inability to fire shot bullets or other projectiles. Paintball markers should also meet this ruling.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to remove paintball markers from Category A of the weapons regulation to a Restricted Item.
