TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland

The petition of citizens of Queensland draws to the attention of the House the urgent need for Ferny Grove State High School to acquire ongoing access to a narrow strip of the parcel of land (the land) located on the eastern fence line of the high school on the site of the Keperra Picnic Grounds. Access to the land will enable the school to complete projects already budgeted for by the State Government. These projects include the installation of lighting on the school ovals, the provision of on-campus car parking and construction of a new 2,000 seat sports/performing arts complex – due for completion in November 2020. These projects will reduce on-street parking demands around the school, enable Arana Touch Football to use the school ovals for club meets and enable students to use state of the art performing arts and sporting facilities.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House do all in its power to ensure the Ferny Grove State High School acquires ongoing access to the land as a matter of urgency.
