Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House that residents of Coomera Foreshores (the estate) note the multiple negative effects of Coomera Connector on Oakey Creek Road, Coomera. The connector will result in noise, air pollution from burning of fuel and danger from traffic accidents. The property values have already dropped with the announcement of the Coomera Connector. This road is planned along the boundary of several houses and less then 100m from the majority of homes in the new estate. There is only 260m from the entrance of the estate to Woolworths East for the freeway. The exit for the Coomera Connector is planned to stop right outside the only exit point of the estate. The noise and air pollution from the five years of civil works will cause havoc.

The majority of the residents in the estate were told there would be two lanes and if we had of been told it was a six lane potential, we would not have built in the estate.

There will be negative effects for wildlife with the destruction of koala habitats in Coomera along with all other wildlife including endangered animals already suffering from habitat depletion.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to cancel the Coomera Connector project exiting or cutting through Oakey Creek Road. We want it moved to another area as our estate is now established. Better still spend the money restructuring the already existing M1. The Coomera Connector is too close to homes.
