TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland

Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House: continuing concerns about the level of youth related crime in the Yeppoon police district; youth being responsible for vehicle theft, property damage, break and enters, shop lifting; insufficient staffing levels at the Yeppoon police station; and ineffective soft-on-crime sentences for young offenders through the court system.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to: consider additional strategies to combat youth crime such as tougher penalties for repeat youth offenders; additional police to be posted to the Yeppoon police station; Additional Police on the streets of Yeppoon after hours; Police officer posted to the Yeppoon Police Citizens Youth Club.
