The residents of Queensland draws to the attention of the House: to the impending dangerous actions of motorists pulling off onto the right-hand side of a highway, for non-emergency purposes. This action has proven to contribute to highway deaths, such as in the case of Luke Harris (Crown vs Cameron Woodvine – 2019)

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House: to call on the Queensland Minister for Transport and Main Roads, Mark Bailey MP to; amend the current legislation to allow the inclusion of highways and Motorways to Division 4, 177 and 178 of the Transport Operations (Road Use Management – Road Rules) Regulation 2009.
