TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland

Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House the inappropriate location that has been selected, without appropriate consultation with the community, for the construction of an ambulance station at the corner of Pascoe and Peachey Roads, Ormeau. Whilst it is acknowledged that an ambulance station in the Northern Gold Coast is desperately and urgently needed, the residents of Queensland call for the Queensland government to immediately cease development at this site and purchase a new site, in the industrial area located approximately 1.5 klm away, on Peachey Road, or some other equally suitable place.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to do all in its power to have The Hon Dr Steven Miles MP, Minister for Health and Minister for Ambulance Services have construction halted, and have the proposed ambulance station located at another site in the adjacent industrial area, more suited to an ambulance station in several ways, including better access to the M1.
