Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House the need for anti-hooning CCTV cameras and other infrastructure to be permanently installed at the intersection of Nerang-Murwillumbah Road and Pine Creek Road in the Numinbah Valley. It is not uncommon to see hoons gathering at this intersection of up to 60 cars. They disrupt local residents through the night with loud hooning activity and place the community at risk from bushfires sparked when they begin to burn their tyres in dense bushland nearby. Local residents and local police are fed up after years of pleading with the Government to fix the problem.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to have anti-hooning CCTV cameras and other infrastructure permanently installed at the intersection of Nerang-Murwillumbah Road and Pine Creek Road in the Numinbah Valley to mitigate excessive hooning activity in the area which has disrupted and endangered local residents for many years.
