TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland

Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House the recent introduction of the Termination of Pregnancy Act 2018.

Within the current community, contraception is readily available, very cheap and the community is very well educated about contraception. There is absolutely no need for the Queensland taxpayer to be paying for abortions for people who are not responsible with their sexual relationships.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to immediately amend the legislation and remove the rights to abortion for any situation over 22 weeks.

Within the next 12 months, amend the legislation to require the approval of two medical practitioners for any abortion and only where the baby has been identified with significant physical and/or intellectual abnormalities.
