TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland

Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House the need for a reliable, frequent and direct bus service for residents of Old Burleigh Town to Treetops Shopping Centre. The community of Old Burleigh Town (Oyster Creek Dr, Cowell Dr, Wonga St etc.) currently have no access to any type of public transport service.  A reliable bus service in this area will not only benefit low income earners, school-aged children and people with disabilities but will alleviate traffic congestion on already crowded roads. As bus stop infrastructure presently exists at Oyster Creek Drive and would be accessible by public buses as there are no obstacles at this location preventing entry or exit.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to introduce a new bus service at Oyster Creek Road to enable residents of Old Burleigh Town to travel directly to and from a main transport hub such as Treetops Shopping Centre.
