Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House that the thirty-seven (37) affordable housing rental properties owned by the Downs Housing Company, mostly in Toowoomba, have been listed for mortgagee sale at auction on 2 February 2019. The thirty-seven indigenous tenants, many of whom are elderly or disabled, may have to move with no immediate solution or guarantee provided by the Queensland Department of Housing.

Your petitioners, therefore request the House to support the purchase of the houses by the Queensland State Government and for the houses to be rented to the existing tenants at existing rents now and into the future.
