Queensland citizens draws to the attention of the House the situation in Queensland is beyond the capacity and powers of the Crime and Corruption Commission (CCC) where currently less than 2% of corruption complaints are investigated. People have lost faith in the system and it is now urgent that Queensland establishes the long overdue Queensland Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC).

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to (a) immediately and urgently appoint a select committee to inquire into Local Government with the power to call for persons, papers and things; (b) the watchdog that is currently the CCC needs reforming/replacing with a proper Independent Commission Against Corruption to commence 1 January 2019 or 1 July 2019.
