TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland

The petition of residents of the State of Queensland draws to the attention of the House, the dangers of the 100km/hr speed limit on the Gillies Range Road, near Little Mulgrave. Traffic currently entering the highway from Appaloosa Street, the Mountain View Hotel, Roos Road and Little Mulgrave Road have limited visibility and must merge with oncoming traffic travelling at 100km/hr. Visibility is hindered by a crest on the northern side of Appaloosa Street and an elbow bend at the approach from Little Mulgrave Road. Serious traffic accidents frequently occur on this stretch of road.

Your petitioners therefore request the House to consider reducing the road speed limit on the Gillies Range Road to 60km/hr, between Appaloosa Street and Little Mulgrave Road.
