TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland

Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House the recent inspirational victory of local school teacher Jeff Horn, over Manny Pacquiao, to become the WBO Welterweight World Champion. In front of over 50,000 people at the 'Battle of Brisbane' at Suncorp Stadium on Sunday 2nd July, Jeff Horn showed courage and determination to defeat the highly respected Manny Pacquiao in an epic 12-round unanimous decision. Jeff's journey to become the world champ started many years ago at the Stretton Boxing Club where he trains under Glen Rushton. Whilst Jeff will receive many well deserved accolades for his victory, we believe that a local park should be named in his honour. For instance, the Stretton Community Park is a short distance from where Jeff has trained for so many years and renaming this park in his honour would be a well deserved recognition for this local champion.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to recognise the efforts of Jeff Horn by naming a local park after him.
