TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland
Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House our concerns that Year 7-12 students from the Goombungee township and surrounding districts are not eligible to receive a school bus subsidy to attend Highfields State Secondary College. Highfields State Secondary College is a brand new high school (opened in 2015) which includes the Goombungee region in its catchment area.
Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to reassess the eligibility for students from Goombungee and surrounding districts to offer them a school bus subsidy to attend either Highfields State Secondary College or Oakey State High School.
