The petition of residents of the State of Queensland draws to the attention of the House that on January 31st the electors of Broadwater endorsed a local plan that included the installation of flashing school zone lights at Labrador State School on Government Road – a school zone that warrants frequent police presence. In the 2015-16 State Budget, this funding has been withdrawn and the installation of the lights will not be going ahead.
Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to reinstate funding for flashing school zone lights at Labrador State School on Government Road and have them installed as a matter of priority.
