Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House that Queensland has the opportunity to lead, demonstrating to its citizens and the world that it is committed to a more suitable future with a vibrant economy and environment. With growing support from industry, government and the public it's time for Queensland to commit to a cleaner tomorrow by banning single use plastic bags. We see a future with alternative bags which will be cleaner and healthier for all.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to support a total ban on single use plastic bags, including biodegradable and degradable bags due to the presence of plastics.
