The petition of the electors of the Division of Mount Isa draws to the attention of the House the need for reintroduction of Club Car and Sleeper Car services on the Inlander Train service from Mount Isa to Townsville.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to reinstate the Club Car and Sleeper Car on the Inlander Train service between Mount Isa and Townsville.

The service has been provided by the Government for 75f years and is used by lower income earners, to help the sick and elderly as a cheaper alternative to flying and to access specialist health services not available in the bush. The Club car is required for access to food and water outside of allotted meal time. The Sleeper car is required for resting during this long 20 hour journey.
