TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland

Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House the concerns of local residents in proximity of a development on Lots 2222 and 2236 Beaudesert Road, Calamvale.

The proposed development would see high volumes of traffic running through quiet residential streets. The proposed entry and exit points being Dalwood Street and Brentwood Street, will impact significantly on roads such as Chateau Street, Palatine St and Gowan Road.

A build-up of traffic on Chateau Street at the intersection on Compton Road at peak times and any traffic increase will negatively impact residents and be noisy, disruptive and dangerous, increasing congestion, not to mention untenable demand for parking on narrow suburban streets. The development proposal requires the existing minor road arteries, Dalwood Street and Brentwood Street, absorb the huge increase in traffic volume.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to support access to the development directly from Beaudesert Road via service road as the only sensible alternative.
