TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland
The petition of electors of the Division of Bulimba draws to the attention of the House the inadequacy of parking options around the Cannon Hill railway station, which is severely impacting local commuters. This problem will only be exacerbated by the increased development in the area and the imminent changes to the Brisbane City Council's City Plan which gives the green light to five story unit development with reduced residential car parking requirements in the area immediately around the Cannon Hill Train Station.
Your petitioners therefore request the House to prioritise funding for a Feasibility Study to determine the most effective way to provide for better parking options for Cannon Hill commuters.
