The petition of residents of the State of Queensland draws to the attention of the House the distress and harassment of householders and business owners that is being caused by perpetrators such as break and enter offenders and the need for more frontline police in the Burderkin.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House that urgent consideration be given to the strengthening of laws to ensure that perpetrators of such illegal activities will be adequately penalised and brought to justice and that more frontline police be allocated to Ayr and Home Hill.
