Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House that petitioners are worried about possible health effects from increasing amounts of coal dust in the atmosphere which follow on from the massive increase in the amount of coal being mined in Queensland and transported to and from ports.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to legislate to require companies producing and hauling coal to put covers over rail wagons and trucks carrying coal to port and back to the mines.
