Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House the continuing overcrowding of trains on the Gold Coast line in the peak travel times, mornings and afternoons and the need to increase train frequency during these peak times to have the dual effect of reducing the overcrowding and also potentially reduce traffic congestion along the M1/M3 by attracting greater patronage on the Gold Coast line.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to as a matter of urgency, provide at least three additional train services in the morning peak period and at least three additional train services in the afternoon peak period on the Gold Coast line.
