The petition of residents of the State of Queensland draws to the attention of the House Gold Coast beaches are the spine of the Queensland tourism industry, luring millions of visitors each year. Wild storms and king tides have severely eroded beaches, causing showers and boardwalks to collapse and leaving beachfront infrastructure on the edge of collapse. Council says it will cost $30m to repair.

Your petitioners therefore request the House to urge the State Government to pledge half of the $30m to make the beaches fully operational again.
