Queensland Citizens draws to the attention of the House the desire of the people of North Queensland to be recognised as a separate and distinct community with its own regional character and identity.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to: conduct a referendum at the next State election regarding the formation of a North Queensland State with the question to be asked of the people being as follows: “Should North Queensland become a separate State?”
