The petition of citizens of Queensland and draws to the attention of the House the objection by the undersigned residents to the construction of the proposed Townsville Port Rail corridor via the suburbs of Cluden and Oonoonba.  This rail link will impact on the following suburbs of Oonoonba, Cluden, Idalia, Wulguru and Stuart due to the size of the trains, hours of operation and the proposed freight such as coal and uranium. Furthermore, this route will also impact on the quality of life and the values of surrounding properties.

Your petitioners therefore request the House to consider a route that takes freight trains away from the southern suburbs of the city of Townsville.
