TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland

The petition of residents of the State of Queensland draws to the attention of the House that 1925 was when Anzac Memorial Avenue, which runs from Petrie to Redcliffe, was first dedicated.  Over time the word “Memorial” was dropped from the road name.  We the undersigned as a mark of respect would like the word “Memorial” reinstated in the street name.  This is a mark of respect for those who served, lost their lives or were injured during the battle of Gallipoli at Anzac Cove, Turkey.

Your petitioners therefore request the House to consider renaming Anzac Avenue to Anzac Memorial Avenue.
